About the furReal Gabby the Grow & Roar Interactive Plush Tiger
furReal Gabby the Grow & Roar Tiger is an interactive plush tiger cub from Just Play that grows as kids care for her. She starts as a 12.75-inch cub, and feeding, petting and playing with her make her grow into a 15-inch big cat. When you want to start again, press on her back and she returns to her original cub size for repeat play.
Gabby responds with more than 100 sound-and-motion combinations, including playful roars, soft purrs and happy tiger sounds. Offer her the bottle to hear eating sounds, give her the toy, or pet her back for more reactions. If you roar at Gabby, she roars back. She has soft orange fur with bold stripes and sparkly eyes.
Just Play recommends her for ages 4 and up. She suits children who like caring for pets and animal role play, and she can join other furReal pets in a collection (each sold separately). Gabby was a 2026 NAPPA Awards winner.
In the box: Gabby the interactive tiger, a play bottle and a toy. She needs 4 AA batteries, which are not included. No app is required.
What reviewers say
Gabby won a 2026 NAPPA Award. The parent evaluators' comments praise her fluffy, soft fur, cute noises and gestures, unusual eyes and the fun of feeding her and watching her grow, and one noted that the batteries last a long time. Owner reviews at major US retailers are also strongly positive, averaging about 4.5 to 4.7 out of 5 across roughly 20 to 60 ratings each (some collected through promotions). Parents and grandparents describe her as a hit birthday or holiday gift, say she is bigger than expected, and like that she eats, purrs and plays like a real animal. The one substantial complaint came from a parent who found that the roar-back feature led to constant roaring and squabbles between siblings.
Pros
- Growing from cub to big cat keeps kids engaged in caring for her
- Soft, fluffy fur and expressive, sparkly eyes
- Plenty of sounds and reactions, including roar-back
- Batteries last a long time, according to a NAPPA parent evaluator
- A popular gift in owner reviews
Cons
- The roar-back feature can get noisy in busy households
- 4 AA batteries are not included
