About the Monster Jam Official Megalodon Remote Control Monster Truck, 1:24 Scale, 2.4 GHz
This is the official Monster Jam Megalodon remote control monster truck in 1:24 scale, made by Spin Master. It is styled after the shark-themed Megalodon truck from Monster Jam events, with oversized tires carrying official BKT branding and a chassis designed to look like the real truck's.
It comes ready to drive with a dual-joystick controller. The controller uses 2.4 GHz radio, which Spin Master says gives a range of up to 250 feet and lets up to six Monster Jam 2.4 GHz trucks race at the same time, so friends and siblings with their own trucks can hold a rally together. Kids can drive it through stunts such as big air, donuts and cyclones, plus plenty of crashes and bashes.
Spin Master recommends it for ages 4 and up, making it a fit for young Monster Jam fans. At 1:24 scale it is a compact truck, and several owners say it is smaller than they expected from photos.
In the box: one Megalodon 1:24 scale RC truck, one controller and an instruction guide. Spin Master lists 5 AAA batteries as required, and they are not included. No app is required. The truck is part of Spin Master's 1:24 Monster Jam RC range, which also includes trucks such as Grave Digger and El Toro Loco (sold separately).
What reviewers say
This truck has been on sale since 2019, and owner reviews are the main source: about 4.1 out of 5 from roughly 770 ratings at one major US retailer and 4.0 out of 5 from 32 at another. Many parents and grandparents say kids love driving it, and some bought two so they could race them against each other. The most common complaint is size: many owners say it is much smaller and lighter than it looks in photos. Other complaints include a light, cheap-feeling build, weak steering, a controller battery-cover screw that stripped, and units that stopped working after a few uses. Some reviewers also say they received imitation copies from marketplace sellers.
Pros
- Kids enjoy driving it, according to many owner reviews

- Ready to drive out of the box apart from batteries
Cons
- Many owners say it is much smaller than expected from photos
- Light plastic build feels cheap to some buyers
- Some reports of weak steering and units failing after little use
- Batteries are not included
