About the TCL QM6K QD-Mini LED 4K Google TV
TCL's QM6K Series pairs a Mini LED backlight with QLED quantum-dot color for a 4K picture, and uses local dimming to brighten highlights and deepen the darker parts of the image. TCL positions it as a high-brightness TV with immersive sound for everyday movies, sports and streaming.
It runs Google TV, which brings your streaming apps together in one place. The QM6K comes in several large screen sizes, making it a good fit for living rooms and family rooms where you want a big, bright 4K picture.
What reviewers say
Reviewers see the QM6K as a strong-value Mini LED TV. CNET and Tom's Guide praised its picture quality and deep blacks for the money, and RTINGS highlighted very low input lag and high-refresh gaming support with VRR. The trade-offs are modest HDR brightness and color punch next to pricier models, some haloing around bright objects, a mediocre viewing angle and built-in sound that Tom's Guide found inconsistent.
Pros
- Excellent picture quality and deep blacks for the price
- Very low input lag with 144Hz VRR gaming support
- Accurate colors, with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support
- Plenty of features for an entry-level Mini LED TV
Cons
- HDR brightness and color saturation trail pricier models
- Some haloing around bright objects and a mediocre viewing angle
- Built-in sound is inconsistent; a soundbar helps
