About the Lectric XP Lite 2.0 Long-Range Folding Electric Bike – Black, Gates Carbon Belt Drive
The XP Lite 2.0 is Lectric's compact, lighter-weight folding e-bike, and this version pairs the Long-Range 48V 14Ah (672Wh) battery with a Gates carbon belt drive in place of a chain. Lectric rates the Long-Range pack for up to 80 miles, and the single-speed belt is designed to run quietly with very little maintenance and no greasy chain.
A 300W rear hub motor (819W peak, 28Nm) provides pedal assist and throttle up to 20 mph, and the bike can be set up as a Class 1 or Class 2 e-bike. Hydraulic disc brakes, a color LCD display, 20 x 2.5-inch slick tires and IP65-rated electrical components round out the package.
Folded, it measures about 36 x 16 x 27 inches, so it is easier to tuck into tight storage spaces or carry in a vehicle. The bike weighs 41 lb without its 8 lb battery, carries up to 275 lb and fits riders from roughly 4'8" to 6'2", so it suits commuters and casual riders who need something compact and easy to store.
What reviewers say
Electric Bike Report and Electric Bike Review both rate the XP Lite 2.0 a strong-value folder: it folds quickly, the hydraulic disc brakes stop shorter than the earlier mechanical setup, and the color display is bright and easy to read. The single speed is the main trade-off, with pedaling spinning out around 16 mph and steep climbs harder work, and both found tested range below Lectric's estimate. Testers rode the chain-drive, standard-battery version, not this belt-drive Long-Range build.
Pros
- Folds quickly and compactly
- Hydraulic brakes are rare at this price
- Bright, readable color display
- Quiet, peppy motor
Cons
- Single speed spins out around 16 mph and makes steep hills harder
- Tested range came in below the claimed figure
- Bar-style battery gauge isn't very precise
